  • Decisions: Critical points where a choice affects the process direction.

Types of Process Mapping

  • Process Flowchart: The most common type, showing activities sequentially, highlighting decisions and alternative paths.
  • SIPOC Diagram: Defines Suppliers, Inputs, Processes, Outputs, and Customers, providing an overall view of the process.
  • Value Stream Map: Used to visualize the flow of materials and information from the start of the process to the end customer, identifying value-adding activities.
