Over 200 entrepreneurs attended the various sessions organized by Telefónica in Murcia and Valencia, where the latest advancements in IoT and robotics were presented.
Trends in smart industry, innovations in sensors and IoT (Internet of Things), manufacturing plant digitalization, and robotics focused on production were the main topics discussed by Telefónica during the business sessions ‘Industry 4.0, the Smart Industry’ held in Murcia and Valencia earlier this week.
In these sessions, around 100 companies learned firsthand about the latest trends and innovations in the sector. Geprom, as a leading company in the field, was responsible for explaining the various reasons and methods to digitalize the production plant. Telefónica discussed the more strategic and security aspects, while Asti, who also collaborated in the sessions, addressed the topic of robotics. Telefónica also dedicated part of the session to network security and addressed key concerns regarding vulnerabilities, remote access, surveillance, and data encryption.

Driving Industry 4.0 with Technological Innovation
In the past two years, according to Telefónica’s data, digitalization in the industry has grown by 10%, while the transportation sector saw a 15% growth, and the energy sector saw an 8% growth. IoT is becoming a key future technology in all sectors, with three out of every four companies expected to adopt this technology in the next five years to stay competitive. Given the needs of the entrepreneurs attending, the sessions focused on solutions such as monitoring and plant processes, asset localization and traceability, connected workers, energy management, telemetry, and connected end products.
As Telefónica’s experts detailed, the digital environment in which economic activities are developed requires new defense strategies, where entrepreneurs must stay ahead of cybercriminals. In this regard, they explained the main tools that companies can use depending on their sector and activity.
